Serial entrepreneurship: creativity and method

To effectively do serial innovation, one must have a repeatable method that can be adapted to various business sectors. For this reason, we have created a four-phase recipe to transform quality ingredients (ideas, creativity, resources, and talent...) into successful businesses.

Phase 1 - pick

Phase 1: Pick

The first ingredient we select to innovate is the business idea. The first step for a successful recipe is to check that the idea itself has the right flavor. For this, we involve real customers and gauge their taste.

Only ideas that demonstrate they solve a real problem for the customer move on to the next phase.

At the same time, other ingredients are also selected: potential co-founders, teams of cloud & AI specialists, industrial partners, and investors essential for the subsequent phases of the project.

Phase 2: Mix

The selected ingredients must be mixed in the right quantities.

This is a 360-degree business validation phase. We solidify the co-founder who will act as CEO, and with him and his team, we start preparing an initial prototype, increasingly involving potential customers in order to validate the startup from a managerial, commercial, and fundraising perspective.

If all validations are successful, we move on to cooking!

Phase 3 - bake

Phase 3: Bake

Experience, talent, and technology serve as yeast and thickener in this phase, allowing you to shape, solidify, and give substance to the previously set and validated business .

Even though a lean “build, test & learning” optimization model is still followed, at this stage it is done with a focus on the essentials: building an MVP (Minimum Viable Product),  aiming for break-even and selecting the right industrial partner to support the “Serve” phase.

Phase 4: Serve

After several optimization cycles, both the CEO and his team are now a well-oiled machine that knows how to convincingly carry forward the prepared project.

The recipe has been successful and satisfied customers are returning to purchase it again, but at this stage, we ensure that it has all the opportunities to scale:  we therefore pass the baton to our industrial partner so that they can add the new business unit to their menu, remaining available to support the generation of the agreed multipliers.

And bolstered by the experience gained, we set out in search of new flavors, returning to the selection phase of a new business idea.

What is a startup studio?

A startup studio (also known as a startup factory, company builder, startup foundry, or venture studio) is a generator of startups, that is, an entity that builds new businesses at scale, following a model of serial entrepreneurship, or “parallel entrepreneurship”.

The startup studio model aims to reduce the risk of startup failure and to increase the quality of the startups produced.
