Press Release
Startup Bakery opens up its "recipe" for business to the outside and calls Guido Pezzin to lead the bizdev of its Delivery Service.
Milano, April 10, 2024 – After 4 years of incubation of sustainable B2B SaaS startups with strong traction in Artificial Intelligence, the Italian startup studio Startup Bakery opens its business "recipe" to the outside and calls manager Guido Pezzin to lead the bizdev of the newly born Delivery Service.
“This is a parallel service to the core activities of the Studio that arises from the consolidation of teams, skills, processes, experiences, and tools that have evolved from our inception to today – commented Alessandro Arrigo, CEO and founder of Startup Bakery – A formula that we are ready to share with those who find themselves embarking on the journey of business creation and addressing the related needs that this entails.”
These range from identifying needs to automating processes to effectively building a team, validating the business idea, developing an MVP, scouting co-founders, implementing concrete and effective Artificial Intelligence, and adopting agile product development processes. A rich “formula”, already launched in mid-2020 with the incubation of the company Donux in the UX/UI field, and born from a phased business model aiming at creating unique and scalable solutions.
“I can't wait to engage with this new project that aims to bring outside of the Studio what they have faced and successfully tested in these years – commented Guido Pezzin – The Bakery model has convinced me from the beginning for its repeatable method that adapts easily to different business sectors, for its phased approach aimed at reducing the risk of startup failure and increasing their quality, and for its focus on early exit with industrial partners. I am convinced that all the value generated to establish a similar reality can definitely be of help in many other business contexts.”
A degree in Business Administration and an MBA, a background as an entrepreneur and investor, with over 25 years of experience in information technology and strategic roles in multinational companies from CA Technologies to Oracle, EMC, Experian, HP, and Qlik, Guido Pezzin has supported numerous accelerators, business incubators, and investment funds, from LVenture Group to LUISS ENLABS, Fastercapital, Codemotion, and StartupGeeks, as well as many startups.
At the helm of the bizdev branch of the Delivery Service by Startup Bakery, Pezzin will be responsible for making available to third parties some pieces of the Studio's startup production chain, starting with one of its fundamental elements, automation, useful for both lead generation & acquisition as well as onboarding new clients and retention; then also moving on to usability, which sees good UX/UI as one of the essential ingredients for the success of any SaaS product.
“We believe that Guido's entry into the team will be crucial for the success of the Delivery Service, thanks to his long experience and deep knowledge of the market in which we operate, today populated by many actors of various kinds – concluded Alessandro Arrigo – The main challenge will be to consistently align the know-how distilled from the studio, on one side, with the services offered to businesses, on the other, given the speed with which our sector evolves. But we are ready to take on the challenge.”

Startup Bakery
Startup Bakery is the Italian startup studio founded by Alessandro Arrigo and Angelo Cavallini in February 2020 with the goal of creating sustainable B2B SaaS companies with a strong component of Artificial Intelligence and allowing founders, companies, and professional investors to express their potential.
Unlike what usually happens in Venture Capital, Startup Bakery focuses on the involvement of industrial partners to enhance its initiatives. This process aims to reduce the degree of risk involved in starting up, while maintaining high returns for its Limited Partners. The Studio guarantees the serial application of tools, skills, and methodologies already present in the team and supports the co-founder in all phases, from fundraising to exit, gradually making them increasingly independent. Thanks to a proprietary algorithm, it can rely on advanced market data collection and processing capabilities in order to identify niches of interest to monitor while the cyclical validation of initiated projects is ensured by the application of lean methodology.
To date, Startup Bakery has initiated and invested in 4 startups: Veterly (2021, PetTech, €530,000 raised); Condeo (2022, PropTech, €920,000 raised); Sencare (2022, HealthTech, €500,000); EsgMax (2023, Sustainability, €800,000 and exit agreement for February 2025).
