Lorenzo Cavicchi, former Lamborghini, is the new co-founder and CEO of Kontai.

Milan, February 9, 2026 - Kontai, the fifth startup launched by the startup studio Startup Bakery, officially announces the entry of Lorenzo Cavicchi as co-founder and CEO, begins fundraising for the seed phase, and starts development of the first MVP of the platform.

Kontai, created to bring order to the management of software subscriptions and recurring expenses for businesses, SMEs, and scaleups, transforms a fragmented and opaque ecosystem into a structured source of decision-making insights. The solution uses AI to automatically collect, organize, and connect payments, renewals, and incidents, offering companies a unified view of their relationships with SaaS vendors and supporting more informed decisions on costs, usage, and performance.

Lorenzo Cavicchi is an executive with over twenty years of experience in IT, digital transformation, and data-driven operations, gained in complex industrial contexts. He has held responsible roles in companies such as Datalogic and Automobili Lamborghini, leading technological initiatives to support business, operations, and decision-making processes.
He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Data & Decision Intelligence Observatory and the Scientific Committee of the HumantTec – Humans and Technology project at the Politecnico di Milano. In 2025, he completed the Executive Master in Management (EMIM) at POLIMI Graduate School of Management.

Kontai has just successfully completed the Mix phase of the Startup Bakery journey, finalizing the problem-solution fit phase and exceeding the pre-order target necessary to validate the project. Following this achievement, Startup Bakery Lab 2 has approved a second investment ticket of €200,000, which adds to the €100,000 already invested in the initial phase, bringing the total commitment to €300,000.
With the entry of Lorenzo Cavicchi and the start of the Bake phase, Kontai now enters the heart of its journey: development of the MVP, go-to-market, and opening of the seed round, aiming to bring to market an AI-native platform designed to transform the management of recurring expenses from a cost center to a strategic lever for businesses.

The platform particularly targets European SMEs and scale-ups with a high number of active software tools that need to monitor recurring expenses, renewals, billing anomalies, and vendor performance.
