Milan, 6 March 2024: Consis, a point of reference in the public administration, healthcare and health markets, with products and services in medical informatics, medical devices, consulting and training, and Sencare, the digital solution for home care born inside the startup studio Startup Bakery, have formed a partnership that will see them offer the market a complete solution for the digitisation of medical home care.

The agreement follows the line of the investments Consis Group has been making in R&D in Digital Medicine and Technomedicine (Telemedicine) since 2014, for the development of a suite of health products (Suite HO). Among these, the € 200,000 investment in Sencare in December 2022, adding to the € 300,000 already invested by the Startup Bakery group.

Through this collaboration the two companies will bring the entire home care chain into the technology flow, from the organisations to the medical and nursing staff, on to the caregivers and to the “last mile”, that is, the person being cared for. This thanks to Consis’s digital medicine services, medical devices and reporting systems on one side, and to Sencare’s automated organisation and management of the activities typical of home care, along with communication services with the person being cared for, on the other.

“The market today offers various IT solutions allowing the organisation of the services and medical care that Consis Group delivers. The great limit of this offering, which today dominates the market, is the ‘hospital-centric’ conception of the IT solutions we are often ‘forced’ to integrate with, which in fact inhibits a true digital transformation of the services and medical care we propose. Sencare, instead, is for us the solution that allows us, as producers of digital medicine platforms, to ‘virtualise’ medical care by ‘reaching’ the health need that every person expresses, there where their life ordinarily unfolds, turning every person and every health need into the true ‘centre’ of action of the process innovation we pursue.”, commented Vincenzo Papa, President & CEO of Consis.

The third startup spun up by Startup Bakery, the Startup Studio specialised in sustainable B2B SaaS solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, Sencare is an intelligent cloud assistant allowing organisations specialised in home care to choose, organise and oversee care, offering the independence and peace of mind that those being cared for and their families need. The solution connects care organisations with home care professionals, the people being cared for and their caregivers, making both the delivery and the monitoring of services more efficient and allowing both the organisations and the families to oversee the quality and punctuality of the services received.

“The variety and efficiency of the services offered by Consis’s digital medicine suite are a fundamental asset in Sencare’s commercial strategy, added Andrea Strini, co-founder & CEO of Sencare , We will have the possibility of going to market with a more complete bundle, more suited to the great complexity the social and healthcare assistance market demands”.

The first organisation to benefit from the collaboration is the Bologna-based company Loreari, led by Silvia Terzi, active in first-response home care, long-term treatment and chronic conditions. Sencare and Gruppo Consis will jointly offer it their services for one year.

This partnership is a significant step in our commitment to promoting innovative solutions in the home care sector, and the support to Loreari has been the pilot of a fruitful collaboration that we hope to replicate with many other similar organisations, concluded Alessandro Arrigo, CEO and co-founder of Startup Bakery , Our Studio’s goal has always been bringing to life sustainable B2B SaaS companies and, with this in mind, we are pleased to highlight that all our initiatives answer to at least one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The collaboration between Sencare and Gruppo Consis is a further example of how we select and support the business ideas that prove to have a positive impact on people and on our planet, starting from our own country and from the care needs it already presents today, given also its particular demographic profile”.

“Consis delivers more than 250,000 Telemedicine services a year in public healthcare. Sencare is the digital piece that will let us reach the health need in private healthcare too, there where people’s lives unfold: home, work, study, neighbourhood”, concluded Vincenzo Papa.

Consis

Founded in 2007 and active in the Digital Health market, it began its first public projects in Digital Medicine as early as 2014, extending its presence in the private market from 2021, launching Proximity Medicine projects in Italy and in other European and North American countries. These models of geographical organisation through “territorial clusters” allow people and their families to interact with the main players already present close to where their lives unfold: home, work, sport, school, university, pharmacy, clinic, laboratory and so on. The main goal is bringing a cultural change in the way people take care of themselves, through the introduction of prevention into everyone’s lifestyle, in the name of the old adage: “prevention is better than cure”. In truth, today, after centuries, we could correct that phrase by stating that “prevention helps to cure better and sooner”. The benefit deriving from this process, possible today thanks to digital transformation, favours everyone: both those managing healthcare spending, who see the economic value of the health need available for each individual improve significantly, and above all its beneficiaries, that is, people, who see a better life expectancy as well as a better quality of life, even with chronic conditions. Following this model, between 2022 and 2024 various cluster projects were launched in Italy and abroad, among them a project for people with chronic conditions in the Sicily Region financed with NRRP funds, a project with Federfarma in the Lazio Region titled “Prevention in the Pharmacy”, one in Occupational Medicine in the Apulia Region, and one in the Emilia Romagna Region with the Bologna-based company Loreari.

Startup Bakery

Startup Bakery is the Italian startup studio founded by Alessandro Arrigo and Angelo Cavallini in February 2020 with the goal of bringing to life sustainable B2B SaaS companies with a strong Artificial Intelligence component, and of allowing founders, companies and professional investors to express their potential. Contrary to what usually happens in the Venture Capital world, Startup Bakery relies on the involvement of industrial partners to put its initiatives to work. This path aims to reduce the degree of risk of doing startups, while maintaining high returns for its Limited Partners. The Studio guarantees the serial application of tools, skills and methodologies already present in the team, and stands beside the co-founder through every phase, from the raise to the exit, making them progressively more independent. Thanks to a proprietary algorithm, it can count on advanced capabilities for collecting and processing market data in order to identify niches of interest to occupy, while the cyclical validation of the initiatives launched is guaranteed by the application of the lean method. To date Startup Bakery has launched and invested in 4 startups: Veterly (2021, PetTech, €530,000 raised); Condeo (2022, PropTech, €920,000 raised); Sencare (2022, HealthTech, €500,000); ESGmax (2023, Sustainability, €800,000 and exit agreement for February 2025).
