Milan, 10 April 2024: After 4 years spinning up sustainable B2B SaaS startups with strong Artificial Intelligence traction, the Italian startup studio Startup Bakery opens up its business “recipe” and calls on manager Guido Pezzin to lead the bizdev of its newly born Delivery Service.
“This is a service running parallel to the Studio’s core activities, born from the consolidation of team, skills, processes, experience and tools that has taken place from our birth to today, commented Alessandro Arrigo, CEO and founder of Startup Bakery, A formula we are ready to share with anyone embarking on the path of creating a company and facing the needs that come with it”.
These range from identifying needs to automating processes, to effectively building a team, validating the business idea, developing an MVP, scouting co-founders, implementing concrete and effective Artificial Intelligence, and adopting agile product development processes. A rich “formula”, already started in mid-2020 with the spin-up of the company Donux in the UX/UI field, and the product of a business model articulated in phases and aimed at creating unique, scalable solutions.
“I cannot wait to engage with this new project, which aims to take outside the Studio what they have tackled and successfully proven over these years, commented Guido Pezzin, The Bakery’s is a model that convinced me from the start for its repeatable method, which adapts nimbly to different business sectors, for its phased path aimed at cutting the risk of startup failure and raising their quality, and for its approach oriented towards early exit with industrial partners. I am convinced that all the value produced in standing up a structure like this one can certainly be of help in many other business contexts”.
With a degree in Business Administration and an MBA, a past as an entrepreneur and investor, over 25 years of experience in information technology and strategic roles in multinational companies from CA Technologies to Oracle, EMC, Experian, HP and Qlik, Guido Pezzin has supported, as a mentor and advisor, numerous accelerators, corporate incubators and investment funds, from LVenture Group to LUISS ENLABS, Fastercapital, Codemotion and StartupGeeks, as well as a great many startups.
At the helm of the bizdev arm of the Delivery Service by Startup Bakery, Pezzin will work on making available to third parties certain pieces of the Studio’s startup production chain, starting from one of its fundamental building blocks, automation, useful both for lead generation & acquisition and for onboarding new customers and retention; and then moving on to usability, which sees good UX/UI as one of the fundamental ingredients for the success of any SaaS product.
“We are convinced that Guido’s entry into the team will be fundamental to the success of the Delivery Service, thanks to his long experience and deep knowledge of the market we operate in, today populated by many players of various kinds, concluded Alessandro Arrigo , The main challenge will be managing to keep the know-how distilled by the studio, on one side, always aligned with the services offered to companies, on the other, given the speed at which our sector evolves. But we are ready to get in the game”.
Startup Bakery
Startup Bakery is the Italian startup studio founded by Alessandro Arrigo and Angelo Cavallini in February 2020 with the goal of bringing to life sustainable B2B SaaS companies with a strong Artificial Intelligence component, and of allowing founders, companies and professional investors to express their potential.
Contrary to what usually happens in the Venture Capital world, Startup Bakery relies on the involvement of industrial partners to put its initiatives to work. This path aims to reduce the degree of risk of doing startups, while maintaining high returns for its Limited Partners. The Studio guarantees the serial application of tools, skills and methodologies already present in the team, and stands beside the co-founder through every phase, from the raise to the exit, making them progressively more independent. Thanks to a proprietary algorithm, it can count on advanced capabilities for collecting and processing market data in order to identify niches of interest to occupy, while the cyclical validation of the initiatives launched is guaranteed by the application of the lean method.
To date Startup Bakery has launched and invested in 4 startups: Veterly (2021, PetTech, €530,000 raised); Condeo (2022, PropTech, €920,000 raised); Sencare (2022, HealthTech, €500,000); ESGmax (2023, Sustainability, €800,000 and exit agreement for February 2025).
