Milan, 22 May 2025: The growth path of Startup Bakery, the Italian startup studio specialised in creating high-impact B2B SaaS startups, continues with two significant updates. On one side, a leadership change within Sencare, the third startup born inside the Studio. On the other, the birth of the Studio’s fifth company (provisionally named “Bake Five”) and the start of the search for the best person for the role of co-founder and CEO.

Leadership change at Sencare: welcome Gennaro Garoldi

Starting this week, Gennaro A. Garoldi has officially taken on the role of CEO of Sencare, succeeding Andrea Strini, who led the startup through its first years of life, contributing decisively to building the project’s foundations.

An entrepreneur and advisor with solid experience in growing digital startups, particularly in healthtech, Garoldi previously held the role of COO at several innovative companies, including TeiaCare, where he worked on scaling operations and improving customer experience. He is also a mentor at PoliHub and an advisor to digital startups. He specialises in operations, customer success and go-to-market strategies. His career reflects a strong orientation towards innovation and towards building scalable solutions with a positive social impact.

“Our mission remains the same: simplifying the organisation of home care and making Sencare a point of reference for care workers, the people being cared for and their families”, declared Gennaro Garoldi***.** - “Now is the moment to give a concrete acceleration: we will give continuity to the work set up by Andrea Strini, whom I thank for the solid foundations built, with fresh momentum, supported by an exceptional team and clear goals. We have already launched a hiring plan to strengthen the sales and tech areas, with new people arriving by summer 2025, and we are proud to have been selected by Confcommercio as a showcase project financed by the NRRP. These are just the first steps towards consolidating our presence on the Italian market and preparing for the next phase of growth”.*

Sencare is the intelligent cloud assistant that makes it possible to choose, organise and oversee home care, offering the independence and peace of mind that those being cared for and their families need. It monitors visits and the delivery of activities, with specific reports and an intelligent notification system, plans interventions for the people being cared for, creating visit plans tailored to their needs, and organises teams of professionals so as to reduce inefficiencies. Born in 2022, to date it has raised 750 thousand euros (100 thousand at pre-seed, 400 thousand at seed and a further 250,000 of the 500,000 of the current post-seed round) with a pre-money valuation of 4.5 million euros.

We thank Andrea for his valuable contribution and wish Gennaro well in leading Sencare’s next phase of growth, which in these very months is completing its 500 thousand euro post-seed raise”, added Alessandro Arrigo, CEO and co-founder of Startup Bakery.

Bake Five is born: the search for the Co-founder and CEO is open

In parallel, Startup Bakery announces the start of the spin-up phase of Bake Five (whose name will be made official in the coming weeks), a new startup that will operate in accounting automation. The goal? Simplifying and speeding up administrative management through a SaaS solution that automates invoice reconciliation. The startup studio is currently looking for the co-founder who can also hold the position of CEO, as foreseen by the startup studio model and as happened for every startup in the portfolio.

“The person we are looking for must have deep experience in digital roles and an entrepreneurial mindset. Previous startup experience is not required, but curiosity, initiative and the desire to experiment and put our model to work are”, underlined Alessia Marina, HR Manager of Startup Bakery.

To whoever joins the project, Startup Bakery offers a validated idea, capital, a team of experts and a share of up to 37.5% of the new company.

A model that works

With an approach oriented towards sustainability, holacratic culture and lean innovation, Startup Bakery builds new companies in series, offering aspiring co-founders the opportunity to develop a validated business idea, with access to capital, investors and a team of experts. It treats every startup as a unique investment opportunity, following a rigorous business validation method and creating targeted partnerships.

Over these years it has brought to life 5 companies to date, Veterly, Condeo, Sencare, ESGmax and the nascent Bake Five, investing more than 6.4 million euros and securing 2 Exit Agreements. It collaborates with large companies and institutions engaged in digital transition and in transforming business processes.

Startup Bakery Startup Bakery is the Italian startup studio founded by Alessandro Arrigo and Angelo Cavallini in February 2020 with the goal of bringing to life sustainable B2B SaaS companies with a strong Artificial Intelligence component, and of allowing founders, companies and professional investors to express their potential. Contrary to what usually happens in the Venture Capital world, Startup Bakery relies on the involvement of industrial partners to put its initiatives to work. This path aims to reduce the degree of risk of doing startups, while maintaining high returns for its Limited Partners. The Studio guarantees the serial application of tools, skills and methodologies already present in the team, and stands beside the co-founder through every phase, from the raise to the exit, making them progressively more independent. Thanks to a proprietary algorithm, it can count on advanced capabilities for collecting and processing market data in order to identify niches of interest to occupy, while the cyclical validation of the initiatives launched is guaranteed by the application of the lean method. To date Startup Bakery has launched and invested in 4 startups: Veterly (2021, PetTech), Condeo (2022, PropTech), Sencare (2022, HealthTech), ESGmax (2023, Sustainability). startup-bakery.com
