Turin, 12 December 2024: Sencare, the digital solution for home care born inside the Startup Studio Startup Bakery, has signed a partnership with Fondazione FARO ETS, a non-profit organisation working in palliative care across the areas of Turin, Carignano, Chivasso and Lanzo, to support the digitisation of their home care activities. This collaboration aims to improve the internal organisation of FARO’s medical and nursing teams and to foster closer, more direct communication with patients’ families, contributing to better quality of care and to savings in time and resources.
“The Foundation, thanks also to the support of donations and agreements with the local health authorities, manages to guarantee quality care, reducing hospital admissions and costs for the public health system, to the benefit of families too, commented Luigi Stella, General Manager of Fondazione FARO ETS*, “This partnership with Sencare allows us to integrate cutting-edge technological solutions into our care model, improving internal organisation and offering our patients and their families a further level of support”.*
Fondazione FARO, active for forty years, assists more than 1,500 patients every year, of whom around 1,000 at home and the rest in hospice facilities, showing a strong commitment to favouring home care wherever conditions allow. This choice not only improves patients’ quality of life, letting them remain in their family environment, but also brings considerable savings for the Italian National Health Service, estimated for 2023 at more than 1.8 million euros overall in avoided hospitalisations*.
The first phase of the partnership will concentrate on optimising internal communication among the members of the healthcare team, made up of around 175 professionals including doctors, nurses and coordinators. They will be able to plan and monitor daily activities through Sencare’s cloud platform and manage their own care schedule directly from the mobile application. In a later phase, caregivers and patients’ families will be able to access the information too, thereby guaranteeing constant updates on the management of care.
“Our mobile app is able to create a direct, relational bridge between the healthcare organisation and the end users, making both the delivery and the monitoring of services more efficient, added Andrea Strini, CEO and co-founder of Sencare*, This will allow both the organisations and the families to oversee the quality and punctuality of the services received by the person being cared for”.*
Thanks to a network of 175 professionals and 243 volunteers, who provide companionship, logistical support and help with recreational activities, FARO guarantees broad psychological and social support to more than 600 families through dedicated projects. A care model that demonstrates the importance of an integrated, multidisciplinary approach in palliative care.
